Why 'Diary of a Mad Black Woman' will always be one of my favorite films.

This movie is so ridiculously strong with life lessons I don't even know where to start. The beginning? sounds good.

No matter how nice, good, or right you are... Sometimes people may treat you badly. Even though you don't deserve it.

Sometimes it's better to get out of a bad situation instead of fighting to fix something that's terrible for you.

Life continues when you're not looking... Not just to you, but to those you care about.

Sometimes grandparents are the best people to come to your aid. I wouldn't mess with my Grandmother when she's mad. Not even slightly irritated.

Some things are more important than money, like your dignity.

You can't blame every man for one asshole's wrongdoings.

"Orlando: Why you being so mean, woman?
Helen: Why you being so nice, man? "

Sometimes the right thing to do is the hardest. You can't enable someone forever.

You can't judge the offspring by the parent. They are their own person.

Maybe you shouldn't get involved with someone who is super involved in crime...

Maybe you shouldn't link your girl on the side to your banks accounts and put her in charge if you live or die. Because she may say 'fuck it' and steal your money.

" Do you see what you left me for? This is what you left me for. Look at it. She didn't give a damn about you Charles, she told them to let you die." Helen to Charles

"September 19th. Dear Diary, as I sit here thinking about picking up the pieces of what used to be my life, I realized something. Every room in this house holds a painful memory for me. Even though he's suffering, something somewhere in me wants him to suffer more. A few months and a divorce can take you through just as many emotions as 18 years in a marriage. And I'm starting to feel all of them at once. But the one that is clear is rage. Signed, a Mad Black Woman." Helen

Revenge may seem good at the time but...

TRUTH

It's okay to let go, feel love, and be happy again.

There are plenty of people out there that want to love, and be loved.

"I know you don't believe in fairy tales. But, if you did, I'd want to be your knight in shining armor. You've been through so much. I don't want to see you hurt anymore. Now I may not be able to give you all that your used to. But I do know I can love you past your pain. I don't want you to worry about anything. You just wake up in the morning, that's all you have to do and I'll take it from there. There's one condition. You have to be my wife." Orlando

And last, people CAN change. All you have to do is want it for yourself.

Super Applyer

Sorry for the write break. As most of you know I just got my license for the first time ever so I had more options for getting a job. Well that's all I've been doing the last week or so. I've been applying so much I'm considering taking an unconventional route to get noticed, here are a few of my ideas

1. Walk in to a prospective company with my applications with a boombox over my shoulder that's playing Abba, 'Take a Chance on Me'.

2. Just act like I already work there

3. Throw my boring cover letter out the window and just talk about how awesome I am.

4. Find out where all these HR people hang out and put on the charm.

Hey, if they would just meet me or look at my work... GAH

Lots of love,

Adoption

So I'm watching this show on Netflix called, 'Beyond Scared Straight'. My husband hates it because he thinks it's mean. It makes me cry, but not for the reason you think. These parents love their kids so much it actually makes me cry. You can see it, they're pleading with their kids to live and make different choices. It's hard in some neighborhoods... The pressures and the lifestyle. It's easy to feel you don't have another choice.

I hope I get to be a good parent one day, though I seriously hope I don't have to beg them to avoid a life of crime.

Chris and I decided a few years ago that adoption would be a better option for us. We want to pay that forward. But I don't like pain, for one. Another is that we are both completely capable of loving and caring for a child even if it didn't come out of my womb. He was adopted and was very lucky. His family is amazing. There are so many kids in the system... But do you know how hard it is to adopt?

The whole system is nuts. People want to make it more difficult to get an abortion.  Kids are put up for adoption all the time... And when someone wants to adopt they make it extremely extremely difficult and expensive. To adopt a newborn in Massachusetts it's about $30,000. To adopt a toddler from another country it's around $20,000. I think it's less as their age gets higher. Even then, say you choose a newborn. You have to have a background check, fill out stacks of paperwork, a social worker has to approve your home, a mother has to choose you... And even then she has six months to change her mind. You don't get your money back.

We have a list we are going to complete before we begin. Most important being that I need a job. From there we will be looking for land to buy. I'm blessed to be related to some of the best carpenters in New England. Once the house is complete and we both feel ready, well then we will begin our journey. I'm so excited... We will be the best parents. Our child will be so loved.

The February Birchbox

I LOVE Birchbox. It's my favorite monthly club I'm a part of... And I'm a part of quite a few. It's only $10.00 a month and you receive around 5 products a month. Also, you can gain points that can go toward purchases if you review the products you receive. Not only that, but IF you choose to buy the products, say you ran out, each dollar is a point. 100 points is $10.00! It's pretty amazing.

This month has probably been my favorite box thus far. Birchbox is always trying to come up with new ways to improve the experience for their customers. They began offering two options in the beginning of each month. You can either choose an exclusive product for your monthly box, and have the rest be a surprise... Or you could choose the guest curated box. This month, Rent The Runway came and created genius. You may remember that a few posts ago I suggested my readers check out everything Rent the Runway has to offer... Well this is why haha!

First, they offered an amazing deal exclusively for birchbox subscribers:

That's HUGE! So excited. I'm hoping to score some couture for my sorority ball! Pumped.

Here's a first look at my five products. I immediately tweaked because there are products in here from companies that I've really wanted to try but haven't had in any of my boxes.

This was great for me because I hadn't showered yet oops. My first instinct is to ALWAYS smell the new products. It smells expensive, floral, but subtle. Maybe Cherry Blossom? It went on clear, and my hair looked and felt better after use. I would highly recommend this to a customer.

This company is up and coming. It's not just soap, each scent is meant to address day to day issues. This one is called 'The stuff that Cupid dips his arrows in (because sometimes fate needs an assist).' It's infused with pheromones which is supposed to attract people to you. This particular one smells like blackberry and vanilla. If you're intrigued but aren't sure you want to be infused with pheromones, check out their sampler set here.  They have some energizers, some sleep aids... Just check it out mmm kay?

I can't put my finger on the scent... It's like a dusty floral scent? Maybe wild flower?
I haven't tried it yet but it has great reviews, the company is highly respected and I kind of need it right now. When you get a face wax... Like I just did... You're likely to break out because the hair that usually catches some of the dirt is gone. So I'm excited!

I am obsessed with this company and I've wanted to buy this gloss so badly, but I waited and I'm so glad I did. HA 'the bomb' get it? I think it's cute going for the comic bombshell look. It smells like gummi bears in the best way. The problem with a lot of lip balms is that they don't hold up. They don't stick or stay or they clump up. This balm is strong in pigment and in formula. I put it on and knew it was going to stay put.

I'm more of a gel liner girl, if not a felt tip type of girl. THEN pencil then liquid. But as far as pencils go it's easy to put on and the color is rockin'. I don't know if you can tell but it's dark blue. I did the smudge test and the color stayed put which is super important as I'm sure you know. They definitely have some great colors you can't get anywhere else if you like to experiment considering the price point!

That's it for today... I hope I made you consider joining this club because I love it so much and I'd love to dish with you every month. If you are just click this link:

10 Times Glee Was Super Clever

10. Singing in the Rain/Umbrella
  How badass was this?

9. Landslide
They used this extremely emotional classic to help Santana come to terms that she's in love with Brittney. I cried.

8. Loser Like Me
Glee giving confidence to the kids who don't feel 100% all the time. I dig it.

7. Halo/Walking On Sunshine
I will take a good song mash up any day, especially if it makes you happy after, right? But remember drugs are bad, mmkay?

6. Just The Way You Are
Finn finally gets over his stupid homophobia and accepts his new step brother in the best way possible. Kurt looked so happy. I cried.

5. Make You Feel My Love
This is from the tribute episode to Cory/Finn. Many people don't know for this episode most of the scenes were only shot once... So what you're seeing is raw emotion. This was the last glee episode I really sat through. I tried for a while but I couldn't. I'm still sad over it. He was one of my favorite actors and they were so in love. I can't even.

4. Rumour Has It/Someone Like You
So amazing in every way.

3. Fly/I Believe I can Fly
I listen to this whenever I need confidence. But really though.

2. Pretending
Another original song, breaks my heart. RIP Cory
Plus, all the emotions am I right? About time these two stop pretending, eh?

1. I Feel Pretty/Unpretty
I think this is the most strong mashup, heck, song glee ever performed. There's so many messages and undertones to this song. I think we all know how both girls feel sometimes. I sure as hell do.

Listen, reminisce... Recommend some songs to me!

Lots of love,

Superbowl Recap

WE WON HOLLA! What an exciting game!

 The Seahawks Deferred

 Kate Upton was sexy

 People were straight up trippin'

This guy got his groove back

This guy enjoyed some skittles sneakily, or so he thought.

Katy Perry did this

And I was like this

Then Lenny Kravitz kissed a girl

And I was like

Then the sharks stole the show and your hearts

But I was sad Katy Perry didn't shoot anything out of her boobs.

Somehow this guy got through like a ninja

This ridiculous catch happened and I thought all was lost

But then a rookie named Malcom had an amazing interception with like 15 seconds left on the clock but apparently no one cared enough about him to make a gif of it so here is Tom Brady's reaction.

Then the Seahawks messed up their last chance at redemption by starting a fight. The fight lasted a while. It was pretty epic.

Then we won! YYAYYY!

As for the commercials, there were the good, the bad, and the offensive. So many slow and sad ones this year, am I right?

Here are a few of the best:

And the bad or offensive:

Really Nationwide? Thanks for the punch in the gut. 'I'll never learn to ride a bike because I'm dead' Thanks for that.

I've never been a huge Kardashian fan so this fell flat for me. Mostly because people in my company had to decide whether or not she thought this was actually an important cause.

I didn't realize liking the taste of your beer was a crime. My bad.

That's it for me today!

Lots of love,
Samantha the Fatulous!
